News tips
If something is happening in this industry and someone would rather it didn't get written about, that's what to send.
Tell me what you know and how you know it. Documents help. So do dates, names and DOT numbers. If you are not sure whether it is a story, send it anyway. Most real investigations start with someone who thought it was probably nothing.
If you need to be careful. I protect sources. If you are worried about being identified, say so in your first message and we will move to a channel that suits it. Do not send anything from a work email or a work device. Do not send anything you are contractually barred from sending. If you are unsure about your exposure, talk to a lawyer before you talk to me.
Corrections
Tell us what is wrong and how you know. You do not have to be the subject of the story to report an error. Our corrections policy is on the About page.
Write for us
We want people who work in this industry, not people who write about industries. From the truck, the insurance office, the claims desk, dispatch, the safety department, the shop, the broker's floor.
Send two paragraphs: what you want to write, and how you know it. You do not need clips.
Advertising and sponsorship
We have not accepted paid advertising yet and we are selective about when we will. Read the advertising section of the About page before you write, because it describes what we will and will not do. If that still sounds like a fit, tell us who you are and what you sell.
